In January 2019, Canadian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (CAPPD) Chair Dr. Hedy Fry formally submitted a letter to Prime Minister Trudeau outlining the outcomes of the 2018 International Parliamentarians Conference on the Implementation of the International Conference on Population and Development (IPCI). The event was hosted in Ottawa, Canada in October 2018 and culminated in the adoption of the Ottawa Statement of Commitment, a bold and action-oriented declaration that builds upon the six previous IPCI commitments.
