From April 26-27 CAPPD members Dr. Hedy Fry and Pam Damoff will attend the Global Conference of Parliamentarians on Population and Development towards the 2016 G7 Ise-Shima Summit.

The 42nd G7 Summit in Ise-Shima, Japan, in 2016 will be the first Summit since the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Organized by the Japan Parliamentarians Federation for Population (JPFP) and the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) will focus on three priority areas: gender equality and women’s empowerment; investing in youth; and building active aging societies. The Conference aims to clarify the role of parliamentarians to strengthen global partnership and political action.

Dr. Fry has been invited as a panelist during the session “Women’s Empowerment and Gender Equality: reproductive health and universal health coverage.”
