Human rights in emergencies: Addressing the needs and realities of women and girls

March 21, 2019

The Canadian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (CAPPD) in association with CARE Canada and Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights invite you to a strategy lunch session in support of women’s health and rights in humanitarian emergencies.

As the 25th Anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) gives way to the 25th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, Parliamentarians are speaking out in support of women’s rights where they lag furthest behind – in humanitarian emergencies.

We invite you to a lunch discussion to launch a year of action to address the needs and rights of women and girls in emergency settings. Hear from experts about current efforts to address gender-based violence and uphold women’s critically important, though often neglected, sexual and reproductive health needs. Strategize about how Canadian Parliamentarians can help drive solutions to these challenges

Join us to learn more and take action to realize women’s and girls’ rights.
