The March edition of the Canadian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (CAPPD)’s factsheet focuses on sexual and reproductive health and rights within the context of international development frameworks, including the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development’s Programme of Action (ICPD PoA), the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (PfA) and the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The factsheet provides background information on all three frameworks, and explores how they contribute to realizing individuals’ sexual and reproductive rights.

CAPPD launches February edition of its 2014 factsheets on topic of ‘human rights-based approach’

The February edition of CAPPD’s factsheet focuses on the role of parliamentarians in ensuring that governments uphold commitments and obligations relating to human rights, including sexual and reproductive rights, both domestically and in its foreign relations and development cooperation. The factsheet provides concrete examples of what parliamentarians can do in this regard, and where to find additional information on the subject.
