Government of Canada responds to Order Paper Question concerning Muskoka Initiative

On January 23rd, the Government of Canada responded to a question posed by CAPPD member, Kirsty Duncan, concerning Canada’s support for family planning within the Muskoka Initiative on Maternal, Newborn and Child (MNCH) health.

The question posed to the Government was:

“With regard to Canada’s Muskoka Initiative:
(a) what definition of family planning services is the government using?
(b) what are the top five projects recipient of family planning funding and their amounts?
(c) regarding the $5 million Canada has pledged to fight early and [...]


CAPPD’s Chair receives response to Question on the Order Paper

On November 22, 2013, NDP MP and CAPPD Chair, Ms. Rathika Sitsabaiesan posed a question to Minister of International Development, Mr. Christian Paradis on Canada’s support for sexual and reproductive health, globally. On January NDP MP and CAPPD Chair, Ms. Rathika Sitsabaiesan’s received a response from the Minister of International Development.

UPDATE: Family planning must be at heart of post-2015 development agenda

Parliamentarians demand that G8/G20 leaders place family planning in the context of sexual and reproductive health and rights at the core of the post-2015 development agenda. A global Parliamentarians conference ahead of 2013 G8/G20 was held in London, England from May 9-10. Is family planning still an international development priority?
